Dos planes B
2018
In response to the invitation to perform on the exhibition space of the publication Barcelona Plan B by Chiquita Ediciones, the map is intervened as a scenic-performative space, resulting in an archive that functions as a score.
The piece has two faces: in the first we find extracts of texts rescued from the notebook that were left out of the work “Album Victoria” (2015-2016), a performative project that translates into text, voice and movement a small album of drawings by the painter Jordi Samsó Bastardas (Barcelona, 1929- 2008). On the other side, a selection of transcribed phonograms that make up a compilation of the traditional music of Catalonia’s regions, covering various fields: communication, work, the course of life, the course of the year, institutions and leisure.
The two texts propose two scenes within the map, two “plans B”, so that the map is presented as a living space where one can carry out a free exercise of interpretation and translation of the graphic work to the stage, to convert into sound and make audible a small file, which also includes an essential element: the exact place for the action.
