Portare acqua al mare is a leporello (accordion-fold publication) that maps out different routes around the Venetian archipelago. The book illustrates a peripheral wandering through this place, with the horizon as the only point of reference, escaping the postcard version of Venice. An indecisive, hesitant and melancholic exploration with no final destination.
Numbered edition of 100 copies with photographs by Blanca Viñas and design by Aída de Miguel. Offset printing on Fedrigoni Arena White Rough 140 g/m² paper.

Blanca Viñas
Blanca Viñas explores ambiguous, fragile and unrecognisable spaces through analogue photography. The playful nature of the photographic shot by incorporating accident and chance through the imposition of rules and constraints is part of her creative process. For this reason, her work speculates on the relationship between space and time, places the laws of gravity under suspicion and recovers the importance of the unconscious. In short, she seeks to stimulate different - and therefore critical - views of what is happening.
