Marina VIII
2026
This piece is part of the Marinas series, which draws on the fragmentation and recontextualisation of images from photographs. Composed of photographic fragments and glass tiles, the work proposes the reconstruction of a new sea and a new sky to build a seascape that, upon closer inspection, reveals itself to be a fully fictitious scene. Akin to a mosaic of memory, the piece articulates an invented yet deeply plausible seascape, where the tonal gradation and the cadence of the fragments invite the viewer into a horizon in suspension.
Assembly of 35 found colour photograph fragments, glass tiles, and mortar on board.
16,4 x 12,1 x 3,4 cm.
