Abismes relates different everyday elements. On the one hand, the table and the chair that speak to us about home, about being indoors. On the other hand, a series of bags, suitcases, bundles… All of them items that speak to us about travel, transit, flight, transfer. Stillness in the face of movement, shelter in the face of the elements. There is, however, a change of scale: while the furniture is on a real scale, the different pieces of luggage are represented in miniature. And placed on the edge, generating a tension, evoking fragility… almost turning the table and the chair into a landscape and a small distance into a precipice.
