Rasmus Nilausen

Barcelona based painter who has recently been part of the residency program at the Van Eyck Academie in Maastricht, The Netherlands. His interest in painting is based on personal mythologies that he reconfigures in a novelistic way with new meanings and narratives, often making use and reference to typographic elements and texts in his canvases. Rasmus studied at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London and at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona. His work has been exhibited among other places at ICA-Institute of Contemporary Art in London and Tranen, Copenhagen, as well as at La Capella, Fundació Antoni Tàpies and Fundació Suñol in Barcelona.
