Art on Paper 2026 Fair

For Art on Paper 2026, Chiquita Room presents a project whose curatorial approach explores the lives and careers of the artists, as well as the way Pieter Laurens Mol contemplates—in an oblique and often ironic manner—the established reputation of key 20th-century figures such as Piet Mondrian or Yves Klein. Rather than paying a linear homage, it questions how artistic reputation itself is constructed over time, using biographical, temporal, and spatial coincidences as conceptual material. This oblique gaze subtly alters the status quo of what we think we know about these figures, while Mol, as an artist, simultaneously looks askance at the lives and legacies of his predecessors with irony, precision, and genuine affection.
