Joshua’s paintings and sculptures vary greatly in subject matter and medium, yet maintain an element of authority that makes them easy to relate to the artist himself. Born in England, Joshua has been living in Barcelona for five years while developing artistic research projects in Spain, Palestine and Iraq among others. The images he creates are often the manifestation of larger projects. His paintings often feature non-racially specific men and women, animals, plants, ceramics and architectural features related to disparate places and times. These images provide ambiguous narratives while opening up debates and questions about their protagonists and subject matter.
