Paseo en invernadero Arte

“Paseo en invernadero” [“Greenhouse Walk”] has been the conclusive action of the collaborative experience in the project espais c, in which Chiquita Room has been participating as a mediating entity during the two school years 2022/2023 and 2023/2024. The espais c program, coordinated by the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB), the Consorci d’Educació and Experimentem amb l’ART, links artists with primary schools through a residency space that becomes the artist’s own studio inside the school.

Laura Zuccaro has been the artist who has worked in the Escola Miralletes studio and has chosen a greenhouse-like structure to explore space in its many forms. The greenhouse-shed, firm but soft, impermeable but porous, has become a container of ideas, foldable, transportable and migrant. This object has not only hosted concepts, but has also been transformed into a dynamic being when it has been decided to move it from the studio to the courtyard, like a centipede with a heart made of paper and legs made of pens and pancils. In this traveling space, the experience of drawing, creating and sharing became more intense and meaningful.

Grateful for the experience, we reiterate the importance of linking art and education to create a healthy, sensitive and empathetic society that learns and takes care of itself by caring, celebrating and enjoying the poetics of life. Our sincere gratefulness to Carles Giner for the opportunity to be part of this essential project that fulfills us with hope, and to the artist Laura Zuccaro for having accepted the challenge with enthusiasm and for having carried out the whole process with dedication.
