Hook, Line and Sinker Exhibition
Pieter Laurens Mol produced his first edition in 1967 and, throughout his career, has created nearly one hundred works in multiple formats. These editions offer a concentrated reflection of his entire artistic practice. They are neither commercial reproductions nor derivatives of other works, but autonomous artworks conceived from the initial idea and realized only when the concept has been fully developed.
Mol’s work is characterized by the inseparable unity of idea, form, material, and technique. For him, material serves as a direct carrier of meaning. He therefore employs elements such as lead, iron, paper, sand, and photographs for their symbolic, historical, and mythological associations, connecting them to themes such as death, time, gravity, energy, space, and human fragility.
This exhibition presents a small selection from his diverse body of editions, an open-ended practice marked by the constant intersection of themes, where each work occupies a point of convergence between multiple meanings.
Opening on Thursday, September 17 at 6:00 PM as part of the Barcelona Gallery Weekend Flash Program.
