Acabar i començar

After the pandemic began, Isabel Banal i Xifré photographed bars of soap before and after use, reflecting the changing meaning of this everyday object in a context of hygiene, risk and disease. In this installation, the images are presented in an inverted form: each used bar of soap is paired with a new one, reinforcing the idea of cycle and renewal. The series begins with a spent bar, alluding to the end of a previous process and the possibility of a new beginning.
