SUMMARY:Visit to MACBA with Teresa Estapé
DESCRIPTION:The artist Teresa Estapé will give us a guided tour of her installation Valor refugio II\, within the exhibition MACBA Collection: Prelude. Poetic intention. In her artwork\, the artist relies on paper\, an element she often uses in her artistic practice\, specifically the DIN A4 format\, which she considers a paradigm of normativity. \nThe acronym DIN stands for the slogan Das ist Norm (“this is norm”\, in German)\, and Estapé moves through the installation of 96 sheets of paper in this format with the phrase “Show me the money”\, printed with an inkless punch along all the sheets. In this way\, she recovers the capitalist cry of the 90’s\, which\, although in a more veiled way\, we drag to this day\, and camouflages\, among the sheets of paper\, a sheet of 18-karat gold.
