DESCRIPTION:From August 29 to 31\, Chiquita Room will take part in the contemporary art fair art-o-rama in Marseille\, presenting a solo project by the artist Laia Arqueros Claramunt (Almeria\, 1985). \nThrough her work\, Laia constructs a symbolic universe based on chimerical creatures that challenge patriarchal narratives and expose the systematic erasure of female voices and bodies. At the intersection of mythology\, identity\, and politics\, her practice reimagines ancient Mediterranean rituals as acts of resistance. \nThe featured project has been curated for this edition of the fair and is inspired by the spirit of the Thesmophoria\, festivities held exclusively for women in ancient Greece which symbolized their power in the religious and social spheres\, offering them a space for autonomy and empowerment within a predominantly patriarchal society. The proposal transforms the booth into a dynamic ritual space composed of sound sculptures and illustrations\, where history and myth intertwine.
