DESCRIPTION:In this exhibition\, Julia Aurora Guzmán (Santo Domingo\, 1993) explores the idea of origin\, thresholds and the silence that accompanies the transitory moments between cycles. Using local materials such as coconut mesh and the adenanthera pavonina seed (coralito)\, and combining them with her own craft techniques that she has developed over a period of nine years of work\, the artist presents a series of sculptures and site-specific installations that contemplate and honour the architecture of the Colegio de Gorjón located at the mouth of the Ozama River\, now the Centro Cultural de España in Santo Domingo. \nWith this return to her own origin\, Guzmán invites us to consider ‘the in-between’ as a potential place of introspection and discovery. From an anthropocosmic perspective\, Ahora en el entre  [Now in the In-betweenness] highlights the interconnection between humans and their environment\, between the material plane and the spiritual dimension.
